It has been a milestone year for Pymm & Co. As we celebrate 20 years of helping people buy, sell, let and manage property across Norwich and Norfolk, we’re also marking another exciting moment in our story – the opening of our new Norwich office at 46 Rose Lane.
After two decades at our familiar Ber Street premises, the time had come for a change. Quite simply, we’d outgrown them.
Our new Rose Lane home gives our expanding team around 3,500 sq ft of space across three floors, bringing our Norwich sales, lettings, property management and auctions teams together under one roof – with plenty of room for the next stage of Pymm & Co’s growth.
Ber Street has been an important part of the Pymm & Co story.
When Managing Director Steve Pymm founded the business in 2006, Pymm & Co initially focused on residential estate agency. From those beginnings, the company has grown considerably, expanding into lettings and property management, establishing a dedicated property auction department and opening our North Norfolk office in Sheringham.
Twenty years later, moving from Ber Street feels like another important step forward.
Steve explains:
“We were at Ber Street for 20 years and, with the business outgrowing it, we needed to move. Our new office means we’re now all under one roof with space to continue our growth, which is fantastic. Although we’re certainly a little sentimental about leaving the place we’ve called home for so long, the move reflects just how much Pymm & Co has developed during those two decades.”
Finding a larger office was important, but we didn’t simply want more space. We wanted a location that would keep Pymm & Co right at the heart of Norwich.
Rose Lane fitted the bill perfectly.
Situated between Norwich railway station and the city centre, our new office occupies a prominent position on one of the key routes into central Norwich. It’s passed every day by commuters, city workers, shoppers, visitors and local residents travelling both on foot and by car.
For an independent Norwich estate agent, that visibility is incredibly valuable.
Steve says:
“Rose Lane is ideal for us. The passing traffic, both in cars and on foot, is brilliant for our brand. It also means we’re easy to reach. Whether you’re travelling into Norwich by train, already working in the city or driving in to talk to us about selling or letting a property, we’re still conveniently located in the city centre.”
One of the biggest benefits of our new Norwich office is bringing the different sides of Pymm & Co together.
Our Rose Lane team now includes specialists in:
For our clients, that means access to a broad range of property expertise from one Norwich location.
A landlord might initially approach us to find and manage a tenant, before later deciding to sell an investment property. A homeowner may want to discuss whether a traditional sale or property auction would be the most appropriate route to market. Investors may be simultaneously buying, selling and letting properties.
Having our teams together makes it easier to share local knowledge and provide joined-up advice, whatever stage of the property journey our clients have reached.
Digital property marketing has transformed estate agency over the past 20 years, but we still believe there is enormous value in having a visible presence within the city we serve.
The three large digital display screens at our new Rose Lane office allow us to showcase clients’ properties prominently to the large numbers of people passing the office each day, complementing the online property portals, our website, social media and wider marketing activity.
It’s modern technology being put to work in a very traditional estate agency location – something that sums up our approach rather well.
A bigger office doesn’t mean a change in what Pymm & Co stands for.
When Steve reflected on the company’s 20th anniversary earlier this year, he spoke about how dramatically estate agency has changed since 2006. Buyers and tenants can now access property information almost instantly, online marketing has transformed how homes are presented and technology plays an increasingly important role throughout the moving process.
But the fundamentals haven’t changed.
Property remains personal.
Whether someone is selling a much-loved family home, buying their first property, managing an investment portfolio or dealing with the sale of an inherited property, they want knowledgeable people they can speak to and trust.
That’s something we’re determined to retain as we grow.
Our new Norwich office gives us better facilities and more room, but Pymm & Co remains an independent Norfolk estate agent built around local knowledge, personal service and straightforward advice.
While Rose Lane becomes our new Norwich home, our established Sheringham office continues to serve clients throughout North Norfolk.
Together, our Norwich and Sheringham teams enable us to cover a remarkably diverse property market – from city-centre apartments and family homes in Norwich’s suburbs to village properties, investment opportunities and homes along the North Norfolk coast.
That local reach has become an increasingly important part of Pymm & Co over the past 20 years, and it’s something we intend to build on.
Moving offices inevitably involves plenty of boxes, cables and cups of coffee, but this particular move means rather more to us.
After 20 years on Ber Street, 46 Rose Lane represents the next chapter for Pymm & Co, giving our people room to grow, bringing our Norwich property services together and putting the homes we’re selling and letting in front of thousands of people travelling into and around the city.
Most importantly, it keeps us right where we want to be – in the heart of Norwich, serving the people and property market we’ve been proud to be part of for the last two decades.
If you’re thinking about selling or letting a property in Norwich, considering selling through property auction, or simply want some friendly advice about the local property market, we’d love to welcome you to our new office.
